Lakeville Area Schools Increases Graduation Rate Despite COVID-19 Pandemic

The four-year graduation rate for students in Lakeville Area Schools increased last year, according to data released by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) today. The overall graduation rate increased one point to 94 percent and it remained well above the statewide graduation rate. 

Of the 949 Lakeville Area Schools seniors included in the 2019-20 graduation data, 894 or 94.2 percent graduated. The 2019-20 statewide graduation rate was 83.8 percent. 

The overall rate improved, and graduation rates for some groups of students increased significantly over the previous year.  Assistant Superintendent Emily McDonald said, “Today, we are glad to be reporting that Lakeville Area Schools were able to maintain a strong graduation rate during a challenging year. It shows the resilience of our teachers, students, and families.”
