Lakeville Area School Board Candidate Filing Opens July 27

Looking to serve and support your school district? Become a candidate for the Lakeville Area Schools Board of Education. 

Residents interested in joining the Lakeville Area Schools Board of Education are invited to submit an affidavit of candidacy between July 27 and August 10.

School Board Candidate requirements:

  • Eligible voter
  • At least 21 years old when the term begins 30 days after the election
  • Resident of Lakeville Area Schools District 194 within 30 days before the general election

Candidate Filing Packets

Candidate Filing Packets are available at the Lakeville Area Schools District Office beginning July 27 during regular office hours.

Monday-Friday

Filing Deadline: 5 p.m. Tuesday, August 10

Affidavits must be notarized and please note there is a $2 filing fee.

One Vacant Term up for Election

Up for election is the former seat of Zach Duckworth, who vacated the seat on Dec. 31, 2020 after being elected to the State Senate. The person elected at the special election will take office immediately after receipt of the certificate of election and taking the oath of office.  The newly elected director willl serve the remainder of the unexpired term which ends Dec. 31, 2022.
