Lakeville South Theatre receives multiple Spotlight Education awards

LSHS Mamma Mia cast performing at 2023 Spotlight Showcase

Congratulations to the Lakeville South High School Theatre’s production of “Mamma Mia” for receiving numerous awards through Hennepin Theatre Trust’s Spotlight Education program and for performing in the 2023 Spotlight Showcase. 

Lakeville South Theatre earned the following Spotlight Education awards:

  • Outstanding Award: Overall Production, Costume Crew, Sound Crew, Light Crew, Run Crew, and Overall Technical Team

  • Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role: Shannon Chrisman (grade 11) as Sophie and Madeline Keeler (12) as Donna

  • Outstanding Performance in a Supporting Role: Noah Clark (10) as Sky and Emma Cockrill (12) as Rosie

  • Outstanding in Technical Leadership: Eli Connery (10) and Meagan Flaherty (12) as deck captains; Wylie Kenyon (11) as stage manager; Kay Krogstad (12), Nora Dahlager (12), and Riley Fogarty (11) as board operators; and Carson Hopper (10) as other

  • Honorable Mention in a Supporting Role: Kennedy Malo (12) as Tanya, Javier Hanson-Sanchez (11) as Bill, and Barrett Gassman (10) as Harry

  • Honorable Mention: Achievement in Musical Theatre, Overall Performance, Ensemble Performance, Dance Performance, Acting Performance, Student Orchestra, and Vocal Performance

Lakeville South Theatre performed a “Mamma Mia” medley in the 2023 Spotlight Showcase on June 13 at the historic State Theatre in downtown Minneapolis. You can view a recording of their performance on the LSHS Theatre Boosters Facebook page

Spotlight Education is a program that works to recognize the achievements and support the development of student performers in Minnesota’s high school musical theatre programs. Spotlight Showcase, through Spotlight Education, is Minnesota high school theatre’s biggest celebration of the year with over 1,600 student performers.
