All: "This Barbie is going to Homecoming!" The Homecoming Dance is coming up on Saturday October 7th from 8:00 - 11:00 pm at Lakeville North. The theme is Barbie, but students are not required to dress to that. Tickets will be $5 and are on sale now online here. If you would like to bring an out-of-district guest this form must be completed by an administrator from your guest's school by 3:00 pm Friday October 6th. Seniors! October is College Knowledge Month in Minnesota and to celebrate, the colleges and universities of Minnesota State are waiving their application fees for the entire month. Students can APPLY FOR FREE to one or more of the 26 colleges and seven state universities at any time during the month. All Minnesota State colleges and universities are waiving their application fee for the entire month of October. October 11,2023 Staff Treat Day. Each month we would like to provide treats and coffee supplies for the LNHS Staff following the themes listed below. In addition to these items, we are collecting gift cards for Principle Budde to distribute as prizes among the staff and disinfecting wipes for rooms in need. We are also collecting items for the nurse's office which include granola bars, feminine hygiene products & mini water bottles. Lastly, we would like to collect positive notes or quotes for the tables each month. All: The Lakeville North Mock Trial team will be starting its season soon! If you have any interest in the law, in being an attorney, in practicing and perfecting your verbal and written communication skills, working with a great group of teammates, learning new subjects, learning new skills, and of course, having fun!, then you are strongly encouraged to join and help build a strong Lakeville North Mock Trial program.
Our first two sessions are planned for Monday, October 2: 6:15 – 7:30 p.m. and Tuesday, October 10 5:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m in Room S101. This year’s case will be a criminal case, so we will be working on prosecuting and defending against a criminal charge. Criminal cases are always fun to work on and develop! All: Lakeville North Chess Club is meeting again. We have our first official meeting on Monday, October 2, starting at 2:45 pm. We will meet in room N211, which is the large study hall room overlooking the student parking lot. All ability levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced. Colleges from around the country will be in attendance to answer all your questions and give out information concerning their college. All: Credit/No Credit: Students who are interested in taking a course on a credit/no credit (pass/fail) basis should discuss this option with their parents/Dean and complete this form. Once students submit this form, they CANNOT change grading systems back to an "A-F" grading system. Deadline is November 3, 2023 by 3:00pm.

All: Lakeville Chamber of Commerce is hosting Future 101: Planning for After High School learn more and plan for students' after high school years.
Discussion on financial aid, scholarships, FAFSA, types of colleges (2 and 4 yr options), test preparation, in demand careers available, and alternate pathways such as military entrance.
This will be held at Lakeville SOUTH High School for all parents and students.

Juniors & Sophomores PSAT Exam : The nationwide PSAT exam (optional test) will be given on Saturday, October 14th at Lakeville SOUTH High School with students arriving by 7:45am. Students who have a GPA of 3.8-3.9 or higher should consider taking this exam. This is NOT a college admission exam. Sophomores would take this exam for testing experience, (including to take it again as a Junior for their Nat'l Merit score). Junior students would take the exam for a score used to get into the National Merit Scholarship Program. Juniors take this exam to be placed in scholarship levels, such as Commended, Semi-Finalist, or Finalist for the National Merit Scholarship and other nationwide scholarships. These scholarship donors seek out students based on their score, to receive their scholarships. The exam is $35 and available through LNHS parents' Infinite Campus portal, school store, testing. All: 2023 - 2024 Yearbook Information
Families can guarantee the purchase of a yearbook at www.balfour.com through January 15, 2024. Between now and November 30, 2023, the cost is $75 for the yearbook, $85 with personalization. Senior packages are available between now and October 31, 2023 for $110. The senior package includes the yearbook, a personalization, and a baby ad. While the baby ad is optional, the only way to purchase one is by purchasing the senior package.
Prices for the yearbook will go up on December 1, 2023, and they will go up for the senior package on November 1, 2023. No baby ads will be available after November 30, 2023.
Seniors have until November 30, 2023 to submit their senior photo. Please use this link: Senior Photo Submissions. We will send out information in October for the senior quotes, but start thinking about what you want to say now. If any students (not just seniors) want their name different from what is listed in Campus, please contact us at the email below.
