Board of Education Meeting Recap: November 28 Regular Meeting
Among other items at the November 28 Regular School Board meeting, the Lakeville Area Board of Education:
Heard an enrollment updatewhich showed current and projected enrollment growth across the district. Executive Director of Business Services Bill Holmgren shared that thanks to the community’s support, elementary growth will be addressed with the opening of Highview Elementary next fall. He shared that middle school capacity challenges are anticipated based upon projections over the next few years as elementary students promote to the middle school level.
Heard a negotiations updatefrom Brenda Albrecht, Executive Director of Administrative Services, who gave a current status and progress of the collective bargaining agreement negotiations with Education Minnesota Lakeville teachers unit and Lakeville Area Schools.
Approved the bond salefor general obligation bonds to be used for Long Term Facility Maintenance projects as part of the District’s long term facilities maintenance plan.
