District to host Referendum Community Meeting on Oct. 30

October 24, 2023

School district residents, families and staff are invited to an upcoming Referendum Community Meeting on Monday, Oct. 30, 6:30 p.m., at the District Office, 17630 Juniper Path, Suite A, Lakeville. The meeting will be hosted by Superintendent Dr. Doug Van Zyl who will share comprehensive information about the upcoming Nov. 7 referendum.

Background: On Nov. 7, Lakeville Area School district residents will vote on whether to approve funding to staff and operate Highview Elementary, the new elementary school opening Fall 2024. The request also includes a second question for funds to attract and retain highly-qualified staff, and to expand K-12 mental health, behavioral and academic support services. The referendum request is in response to continued student and community growth, putting pressure on existing elementary school space, and to foster academic excellence for all of our growing K-12 students.

To learn more about the upcoming referendum, including its implications and voting information, the school district encourages all residents, families, and staff members to visit the referendum website or join the community meeting on Oct. 30: www.isd194.org/GrowingTogether.
