Lakeville Cheer Program excels at state competition

On Saturday, January 28, the Lakeville Cheer Program had four teams take to the mat at the annual MCCA State Competition at Roy Wilkins Auditorium. All four teams excelled with the following results:

  • The Gold Squad, which is a recreational team of 3rd-6th grade students, performed in the exhibition division.

  • The Elementary Competition Squad, composed of 2nd-6th grade students, placed 2nd in the elementary division.

  • The Jr. High Competition Squad, composed of 5th-9th grade students, placed 2nd in the middle school division.

  • The Varsity Competition Squad, composed of 7th-12th grade students, placed 3rd in the varsity tumbling division.

On top of the squads’ successes, Coach Shelbie Wise was recognized as the 2023 MCCA Coach of the Year.
