This week, January 23-29, we are celebrating Paraprofessional Recognition Week in Lakeville Area Schools. Paraprofessionals provide a variety of services that support student learning. The supports include personal care, behavior management, cafeteria and playground supervision, and a host of other accommodations related to student individualized education programs (IEPs). The academic, behavioral and social-emotional needs of students could not be met without the efforts of paraprofessionals and we are grateful to have the opportunity to collaborate with these colleagues.

Lakeville Area Schools has 212 paraprofessionals across our special education, early childhood special education and child care programs.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has declared January 23-29, 2023 as Paraprofessional Recognition Week across the state to celebrate the more than 20,000 paraprofessionals who provide services in schools across Minnesota.
