Pause on Middle School In-Person Learning, Transition to Distance Learning
Today Superintendent Baumann made the difficult decision to temporarily close Century, Kenwood Trail and McGuire middle schools and temporarily move these students to full-time distance learning for the next two weeks.

Three high school students win honors at SSC Visual Arts Exhibition

Gov. Walz orders temporary Metrowide curfew, activities at District facilities end at 6:45 p.m.
Dakota County has been notified it will be part of a regional overnight curfew Monday, April 12 ordered by Gov. Tim Walz. The curfew includes all of Dakota County and will be in effect 7 p.m. Monday to 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Secondary Transition to In-Person Learning
ll Lakeville Area Schools middle school students will return to their classrooms on Monday, March 22. All high school students will return on Tuesday, April 6. All grade 6-12 students will have no school days on March 18 and 19 to allow staff to prepare and plan for the transition. This change does not impact students who are in LinK12 Lakeville or have previously elected full time distance learning through the high school.

UPDATE: District continues to plan to return secondary students to in-person learning
As we are planning to bring secondary students back to full-time in-person learning, we are now actively reviewing the state updates and will be assessing our district’s plan. It is important to understand that there are new and significant safety and health requirements that pose operational challenges that are currently being assessed. Any updates to the district’s secondary transition plan will be shared on Tuesday, Feb. 23 during the regular Board of Education meeting.
