Facilities Vision 2035 plan proposed to school board prioritizing additional middle school space, attendance area adjustments also required for elementary and middle

On November 12, district administration presented the school board with a proposed Facilities Vision 2035 plan, detailing the needs and priorities for district facilities over the next 10 years. 

Over the coming weeks, the district will launch a community survey to gather additional community input and present recommendations to the board for refinement and approval of the Facilities Vision 2035 Plan in December.

The district will also provide information regarding attendance area adjustments that are needed for the 2026-27 school year at the next public school board meeting. 

November 12 Special School Board Meeting Recap

At the November 12 school board meeting, the school board heard the first reading of several policies, and approved policies 402, 412, 601 and 603. The Facilities Vision 2035 plan was also proposed to the school board for consideration. The presentation included recommendations for three phases of facility improvements and additions that were identified by the Facilities Advisory Group. The top priority identified was additional space at the middle school level to accommodate growing enrollment.

November 10 Special School Board Meeting Recap

The School Board met on November 10 for a special meeting to recognize outgoing member Brett Nicholson, certify the results of the November 5 special election and celebrate the community’s strong support for renewing the district’s capital projects levy. Voters also elected Tony Reichenberger to the School Board, who will take office at the November 25 meeting.

Lakeville Area Schools is conducting a survey beginning November 15. The survey will assess community values and priorities, levels of satisfaction with the district, and what the community may support if additional funding were available.
