At the special meeting on September 10, the board of education approved the contract for interim superintendent Michael Baumann.

Today, August 29, the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) released the statewide assessment results for 2024.
Following Dr. Van Zyl’s resignation on August 20, the school board began discussions regarding the selection and hiring of an interim superintendent, as well as a permanent superintendent.
At the August 26 special meeting, the Board of Education discussed the process for hiring an interim superintendent, and interviewed former superintendent Michael Baumann for the interim position.

Thanks to the generosity and support of the Lakeville area community, 807 students received free school supplies, books, food and other resources at the 11th annual Ready, Set, ACHIEVE! school readiness event on Tuesday, Aug. 20.
Dr. Douglas Van Zyl and the Lakeville School Board came to a mutual decision that Dr. Van Zyl would resign from his position as Superintendent.
