School Board Meetings

The Lakeville Area School Board welcomes public attendance at its meetings. Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Lakeville Area Schools District Office, unless otherwise noted. Additional meetings have been added on the third Tuesday of the month for January-March 2025 and are also at 6 p.m. at the District Office.

School Board meetings are streamed live and posted on YouTube.

The following day after a School Board Meeting, it will be posted on the YouTube page.

Public Engagement

The Lakeville Area School Board encourages and appreciates hearing from our stakeholders on district-related issues.

We ask all participants to maintain respect for the Board and fellow audience members. Comments that violate school district policies, such as personal attacks, vulgar or abusive language, offensive terms targeting specific groups, threats, incitements to violence, or the sharing of personal information about students or staff, are prohibited. Participants may be asked to stop speaking if their remarks violate these guidelines.

The Board reserves the right to suspend the meeting if participation is deemed malicious or violates these guidelines.

Public Engagement Rules and Expectations

Individuals wishing to engage with the School Board by Public Comment held at every regularly scheduled meeting of the School Board will have 3 minutes per individual for a maximum time of 30 minutes.
In addition, we also offer Small Group Stakeholder Sessions held 45 minutes before the meeting start time as an option once a month at the 2nd Tuesday of the month in which 5 minutes per individual for a maximum time of 30 minutes.
ALL must register in advance using the form linked below by noon on the Monday before the scheduled meeting. The names and topics of the registrants will not be visible to the public.
- Registration will only be for the next regularly scheduled Board Meeting of the month, the registration form asks you to select that meeting date and choose Small Group (if the 2nd Tuesday of the month) or Public Comment. Watch the website for meeting dates/times changes.
Opportunities are limited to residents, taxpayers, students, parents/guardians, and staff members of the District. Registrants' addresses, enrollment status and/or employment status will be verified before the meeting.
Public comments framed as complaints and/or concerns about students and/or staff are not appropriate at a public forum due to Data Privacy Laws. These types of comments should be addressed to the administration outside of a public meeting. Likewise, complaints about School Board Directors should be privately directed to the Board Chair and/or Superintendent.
No formal action will be taken on a topic presented during Public Comment.
As necessary, the administration will follow up with the appropriate personnel on any concerns that need to be individually addressed.
Doors will open no later than 15 minutes before the meetings begin.
Participants will be called by random draw from the online pre-registered names. If a registered participant is not present when their name is called, they will forfeit their time.

There were no registrations for small group stakeholder session offered before the 6pm Board Meeting so it has been canceled.

There will be a 6pm Special Meeting held on July 15, 2025 in the Oak Room. An agenda will be posted on Friday, July 11, 2025.

Note: If the school district closes due to bad weather and calls off evening activities, any School Board meeting scheduled for that evening will also be postponed and held at the same time and place the following evening unless a quorum of the board is not available.

June 24 School Board Meeting Recap

At the June 24 meeting, the school board received an annual facilities use update, discussed hiring policies, and approved the preliminary FY26 budget and Long-Term Facilities Plan renewal, highlighting continued improvement in the district’s general fund balance.

June 10 School Board Meeting Recap

At the June 10 meeting, the school board approved updates to Policy 704 Fixed Asset Accounting; heard updates on the legislature, Lakeville Arenas, the district's safety and security plan, and the preliminary Fiscal Year 2026 budget; unanimously approved the renewal of an expiring operating levy; and unanimously approved a resolution to hold a special election in Nov. 2025 for voters to consider renewing an expiring capital projects levy.
