School Board Meetings

The Lakeville Area School Board welcomes public attendance at its meetings. Board meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Lakeville Area Schools District Office, unless otherwise noted.

School Board meetings are streamed live and posted on YouTube.

The following day after a School Board Meeting, it will be posted on the YouTube page.

Public Engagement

The Lakeville Area School Board encourages and appreciates hearing from our stakeholders on district-related issues.

We ask all participants to maintain respect for the Board and fellow audience members. Comments that violate school district policies, such as personal attacks, vulgar or abusive language, offensive terms targeting specific groups, threats, incitements to violence, or the sharing of personal information about students or staff, are prohibited. Participants may be asked to stop speaking if their remarks violate these guidelines.

The Board reserves the right to suspend the meeting if participation is deemed malicious or violates these guidelines.

Public Engagement Rules and Expectations

Individuals wishing to engage with the school board by Public Comment held at every regularly scheduled meeting of the school board will have 3 minutes per individual for a maximum time of 30 minutes.
ALL must register in advance using the form linked below by noon on the Monday before the scheduled meeting. The names and topics of the registrants will not be visible to the public.
- Registration will only be for regular board meetings (typically the 4th Tuesday of the month); the registration form asks you to select that meeting date to confirm. Watch the website for changes to meeting dates/times.
Opportunities are limited to residents, taxpayers, students, parents/guardians, and District staff. Registrants' addresses, enrollment status, and/or employment status will be verified before the meeting.
Public comments framed as complaints and/or concerns about students and/or staff are not appropriate at a public forum due to Data Privacy Laws. These types of comments should be addressed to the administration outside of a public meeting. Likewise, complaints about school board directors should be privately directed to the board chair and/or superintendent.
No formal action will be taken on a topic presented during Public Comment.
As necessary, the administration will follow up with the appropriate personnel on any concerns that need to be individually addressed.
Doors will open no later than 15 minutes before the meetings begin.
Participants will be called by random draw from the online pre-registered names. If a registered participant is not present when their name is called, they will forfeit their time.

The meetings can also be viewed live on YouTube and live-streamed on the District website: isd194.org.

In case of inclement weather, the meeting will be held on the next business day at the same time and same place, unless a quorum of the board is not available.

In accordance with MN Statute 13D.01, some members may be attending via interactive technology.

February 10 School Board Work Session Recap

At the February 10 school board work session, a number of topics were discussed including: updating policies to ensure compliance, the discussion of the Achievement and Integration plan, reviewed the revised budget for Fiscal Year 2026 and discussed school board procedures and protocols.

January 27 School Board Meeting Recap

At the January 27 meeting, the School Board covered a variety of topics which included adjustments the next year's calendar, heard the first reading of Policy 533, a budget update from Bill Holmgren, approved updates to policy 620, approved a Joint Powers Agreement, discussed possible changes to other policies.
