Open Enrollment

Applications will be accepted after 

January 1st, 2026 

Families wishing to open enroll for the current school year may complete Step 1 and Step 2 of the Open Enrollment Application Process at any time.

To apply, please complete section one of the General Statewide Enrollment Options application and email, mail or drop-off the application to the Student Enrollment Center at Lakeville Area Schools District Office.

One application must be completed for each student.

The Parent/Legal Guardian address section must contain an address in the State of Minnesota.

You will receive an email indicating whether your application has been approved or denied based on space availability at the grade level and capacity at the requested school.

Approved Students: After you've received approval for Open Enrollment, you must complete Lakeville Area Schools' enrollment process by the enrollment deadline.

• Go to the Enroll webpage and select the school year button your application was approved for.

No, transportation is not provided for open enrolled students. Families will need to provide their own transportation.

No, families with students already approved/enrolled in a school through open enrollment do not need to reapply. As students transition into 6th and 9th grade they will follow the open enrolled school path.

No, families with students already approved/enrolled in a school through open enrollment can stay at their approved school.

“Multiple movers” are resident students who were moved to one school due to boundary adjustments for the 2024-2025 school year and are being moved again due to boundary adjustments to another school at the same level (elementary or middle) that is different from where they attended in 2023-2024 school.

(Eg: Eastview Elementary in 2023-24 > Highview Elementary in 2024-25 > Cherry View Elementary in 2026-27) 

• Does not include residences, families or students moved in adjustments prior to 2024-2025 (the most recent of which was fall of the 2014-2015 school year)

• Does not include students who are being moved back to the school they originally attended (Eg: Eastview Elementary in 2023-24 > Highview Elementary in 2024-25 > Eastview Elementary in 2026-27)

• Does not include families who chose to move schools in any of these years through the intra-district transfer process

• Does not include moving from an elementary school to a middle school
