Limited Attendance Area Adjustments primarily impacting Highview Elementary & Century Middle School
At the July 8 regular school board meeting, the school board approved limited attendance area adjustments to combat concentrated growth primarily affecting Highview Elementary (HVE) and Century Middle School (CMS). These adjustments will also affect a small portion of Lake Marion Elementary (LME) and Kenwood Trail Middle School (KTMS). It is important to note that these changes will only impact new properties being built in these designated areas; students enrolled prior to July 1, 2025 will remain at their current schools. The adjustments do not require any students enrolled prior to July 1, 2025 to be moved to a different school in the 2025-26 school year. Only those areas where nobody has moved in yet or have not been developed will be adjusted. The adjustments will mitigate new enrollments at HVE, CMS, LME, and KTMS, and provide the district with time and flexibility to further evaluate enrollment trends and develop a long-term solution.
