  • The Communications and Public Relations department provides the Lakeville Area Schools community with timely updates about what is happening in our schools. The department communicates with students, staff and families through multiple information channels, including email, text, phone, website, social media, and newsletters. The department creates district news and publications, manages the district's website and social media channels, manages the district's marketing and brand standards, supports information requests, and records and live streams Board of Education meetings on Lakeville Area Education TV (LETV).

Freedom of Information Act Requests

  • This process outlines the steps for those seeking to submit Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to Lakeville Area Schools. Please follow these guidelines to ensure a smooth and efficient request process.

    Before submitting a FOIA request, please identify the specific information you are seeking. Be as clear and specific as possible to help expedite the process. A written request should include your full name, contact information (address, phone number, and email), and a clear and detailed description of the information you are requesting. Submit your FOIA request using the District's request form. 

    Upon receiving your request, the District will send you a confirmation email or letter within three business days. Please note that FOIA requests may take up to 10 business days to process from the date of confirmation receipt. Complex requests may require additional time, and you will be notified accordingly.

    Data considered private under the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act will be redacted from all data requested.

    Depending on the nature of your request, a fee may be associated with processing. You will be informed of any applicable fees during the confirmation of receipt. Processing will begin upon receipt of payment, if required.

    Once the FOIA request has been processed, you will be notified of the outcome. If the information is approved for release, it will be provided to you in the agreed-upon format.
