  • Special Election - Board of Education Vacancy

    Filings Open Tuesday, July 27th thru Tuesday, August 10th at 5:00 PM.

    The candidacy filing period for persons interested in running for the vacant seat on the ISD #194 School Board will open on Tuesday, July 27, and close on Tuesday, Aug. 10, at 5 p.m. To pick up candidate materials or to file the form, candidates should come to the District Office, located 17630 Juniper Path, Suite A in Lakeville.  The filing paperwork includes a $2 filing fee.

    Regular Elections 

    Lakeville Area Schools Board of Education member elections are typically held during general elections in even number years. The Board of Education’s six members are elected at large to serve four-year terms which begin January 1.

    Referendum Elections

    In addition to school board member elections, the Lakeville Area Board of Education may hold referendum elections to support the needs of the school district.

  • Special Election

    Lakeville Area Schools Board of Education will conduct a Special Election on November 2, 2021 to fill a vacant seat. Interested individuals should read the information below:


    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the  office of school board member of Independent School District No. 194 shall begin on July 27,  2021, and shall close at 5:00 o'clock p.m. on August 10, 2021. 

    The special election shall be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021. At that special  election, one individual will be elected to fill a vacancy in a term expiring the first Monday of  January 2023. 

    Affidavits of Candidacy are available from the school district clerk, Independent  School District No. 194, 17630 Juniper Path, Suite A, Lakeville, MN 55044. The filing fee  for this office is $2. A candidate for this office must be an eligible voter, must be 21 years of  age or more on assuming office, must have been a resident of the school district from which  the candidate seeks election for thirty (30) days before the special election, and must have no  other affidavit on file for any other office at the same primary or general election. 

    The affidavits of candidacy must be filed in the office of the school district clerk and  the filing fee paid prior to 5:00 o'clock p.m. on August 10, 2021.
