Lakeville Area Schools offers parents and community members opportunities to serve on advisory councils, committees and task force groups. We welcome the input and involvement of our community in our decision-making processes around our district, schools and programs. Parents, guardians and residents may volunteer/apply to serve on a task force to review and provide input on various topics as part of a task force. Facility Task Force
Purpose
The purpose of the Facility Task Force is to provide input for school district facility needs for the next 10 years in order to accommodate current and projected enrollment growth with alignment to the desired daily experiences of our students.
The task force will cover facility issues based upon demographic, capacity, and program studies and provide recommendations with analysis. The task force will be responsible for providing community and stakeholder perspective on facility space priorities.
This is an advisory body, not a decision making body. This group will be no more than 20-25 people.
Membership Requirements and Selection Criteria
Members must be a parent/legal guardian of a Lakeville Area Schools student(s) or resident of the school district, employees or officers of collaborating organizations, or employees of the Lakeville Area Schools.
Members must have the ability to analyze complex data and issues, and prioritize needs. Members must be able to work collaboratively, listen to multiple perspectives and ensure all voices are heard.
This volunteer committee will be composed of parents/guardians, residents, field experts and staff. We are seeking a wide variety of perspectives as well as a commitment to attending all meetings. Members will be appointed by the Superintendent through the application process.

Finance Task Force
Purpose
The purpose of the Finance Task Force is to review and provide input on the school district’s budget. The task force will study a wide array of financial data and budget scenarios.
The task force will be responsible for providing community and stakeholder perspective on budget priorities.
This is an advisory body, not a decision making body. This group will be no more than 20-25 people.
Membership Requirements and Selection Criteria
Members must be a parent/legal guardian of a Lakeville Area Schools student(s) or resident of the school district, employees or officers of collaborating organizations, or employees of the Lakeville Area Schools.
Member must have background in public finance, data analytics, or related field *Expertise in K-12 public education is preferred.
Members must be able to review a wide range of detailed data, including budget reports, analyze complex processes related to budgeting, and objectively provide feedback. Members must be able to work collaboratively, listen to multiple perspectives and ensure all voices are heard. Members will be appointed by the Superintendent through the application process.
