- The Lifeguard is responsible for supervising the aquatics area to prevent accidents, assist swimmers, and respond to emergencies.
- The Lifeguard will oversee multiple activities including open swim, swim lessons and private rentals.

Position Qualifications

Job Description
- Maintain safety of students and pool area at all times.
- Know all pool policies and rules, inform students of the rules, and enforce them at all times.
- Be knowledgeable of the skills on the progression cards for each program level that you are teaching.
- Begin classes promptly being prepared with all equipment, and make use of the entire class time by leading activities.
- Be in the water to demonstrate skills and give students support and assistance with proper techniques.
- Use a positive approach to teaching; provide individual feedback as well as group feedback throughout the class.
- Complete mid-session reports and end reports for each student throughout the session.
- Provide a good model and directions to Water Safety Instructor Aides who are assisting your classes.
- Clean pool area between lessons and at the end of the lessons for the day. Return all supplies to the proper storage area.
- Follow all aquatics staff policies set forth by ISD #194.
- Be a positive role model for students by wearing appropriate attire when teaching.
- Be knowledgeable of all accident and emergency procedures, participate in emergency situations as needed.
- Complete accident reports and other forms as needed.
- Participate in-services as coordinated by the Aquatic Coordinator.
- Perform other related duties as requested by on-site supervisor.
Posittion Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Current American Red Cross Certification in W.S.I. (Water Safety Instructor) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching various levels of swimming lessons is preferred.
- Ability to express directions to students clearly and in a positive manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, co-workers and supervisor.
- Ability to be responsible, mature and demonstrate good common sense.

Facility Use Supervisor JobID 3804
Position Description
As a Facility Use Supervisor, you will be the primary on-site point of contact representing the District as a liaison on facility and act as a communicator for all facility activities, events, concerns or issues.
- Provides customer service to all users in the facility and on the grounds during a scheduled shift, which may be during the day, afternoon, evening or weekend.
- Assists Community Education Enrichment Instructors and non-district sponsored permit holders as needed.
- Opens and closes district fields and/or buildings or spaces as scheduled for District-sponsored use, including Community Education programs, as well as non-District sponsored use.
- Monitors all activities ensuring that facility users are following District policies, procedures and guidelines as well as related Minnesota Department of Health and Minnesota Department of Education guidance.
- Monitors all building use by conducting walk-throughs in the facility and positively connecting with user groups.
- Completes frequent building perimeter walks (interior and exterior) ensuring site access security to non-scheduled use doors, and oversees arrival of groups through designated entrances.
- Addresses unauthorized persons on site property through appropriate guest service.
- Reviews and develops daily reports on building schedules and special requests, as well as creates action log to ensure completion, including checking in user groups.
- Thoroughly completes and returns all forms including facility use logs, accident/incident reports, user group safety and cleaning observations, and timesheets in a timely manner
- Serves as an ambassador for all District programs providing resources and referrals to customer inquiries.
- Is knowledgeable about District and building emergency action plans and location of emergency resources within buildings.
- Provides direction and partnership during emergencies with site users, on-site staff and local emergency services.
- Attends staff meetings as needed.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
